All our plans include Emergency medical evacuation and repatriation. Our plans do not differentiate between evacuation or repatriation, like other major International health insurers. If treatment is not available locally, we allow our members the flexibility of choosing where they want to be treated, as long as it is within their area of cover.
We will allow you the option of going to UK, where you may have family and friends. Travel costs for one person to accompany the evacuated person are also included.
For non-emergency elective treatment outside your country of residence, members will have to pay the costs of travel themselves. However JWS Worldwide Healthcare will settle the cost of eligible medical bills.
Emergency evacuation within your country of residence by the most appropriate means is a benefit included in the cover. As distances between major towns and hospitals within countries in Africa can be vast, the most appropriate means of emergency transport is by air ambulance. In Africa our specialist claims management company have the authority to dispatch an air ambulance, without prior approval from the London underwriter, thus saving time and money.
Outside Africa, our UK based assistance provider has the authority to dispatch the most appropriate form of emergency transport available, also without referral to the underwriter. We are acutely aware that time is of critical importance in any emergency situation, and we have ensured our members have access to service with the minimum of fuss.
