Who is eligible for cover under the JWS Worldwide Healthcare range of plans?
Persons of all nationalities and their dependants, except for citizens of the USA residing in the USA. Though our plans are designed primarily for persons living and working in Africa, any one can subscribe.

Is there a maximum age limit?
The maximum age limit for individuals enrolling under one of our plans is 65 years of age; with a maximum age limit of 75 years for small group enrolments. However, once you have enrolled as an individual member, you can remain a member of the scheme as long as the cover is required, provided the JWS Healthcare scheme remains in force.
Your husband, wife or partner who are living with you are eligible for cover under your policy as a dependant, together with any unmarried dependant children under the age of 18 who also live with you or are aged up to 24 if they are in full-time education.
Where your dependant child under age 18 or 24 (if in full-time education) does not live with you, you can apply to us for a policy in their own name.

Am I covered anywhere in the world?
You are covered for all eligible treatment in your area of cover, and emergency treatment whilst traveling outside your selected area of cover whilst on business or holiday. There is a limit of 60 days per trip.

Will my plan renew automatically at each renewal, despite my state of health?
Once you have enrolled as an individual member, we will not invoke cancellation if you are diagnosed with a serious on going condition, or as a result of an insured`s age or health record, whilst a member of JWS Worldwide Healthcare. We ensure we give you quality care and support, whatever the circumstances.

Yes, if treatment is not available locally, we will allow our members the flexibility of choosing where they want to be treated, as long as it is within their area of cover.

Do my premiums remain the same after joining, or will they increase over time?
All premiums are age related so they will increase with age. Premiums will also increase in line with medical inflation.

Is maternity covered?
Depending on the cover selected routine maternity is included. Complications of maternity is covered on all our plans.

Are pre-existing conditions covered?
JWS Worldwide Healthcare plans are underwritten on a 2 year moratorium basis. This means that pre-existing conditions are excluded for two years. If you have remained symptom free for two years after joining then the conditions will be covered, so long as the condition is eligible.

Does treatment have to be pre-authorised?
Yes, for all in-patient treatment, assistance services, MRI, CT scans and some other out-patient treatment. For a full list, click here.

Can we join as a group?
Yes, group rates are available for 3 plus employees. Tailor-made schemes can be designed for groups of more than 50 employees and non-underwritten schemes can be looked at for groups of 20+.

Are any occupations excluded?
Professional sports are excluded. There are no restrictions on other occupations, but for clarification it might be advisable to contact us first as a loading may apply for high risk occupations.

How can I pay?
You can pay annually, half yearly or quarterly, by cheque, credit card, or direct transfer.
